A pet food recall has been issued by Natura Pet Products.

The Nebraska-based company announced the voluntary recall today saying that some products could be contaminated with salmonella.

A message posted on NaturaPet.com reads: “We have some sad news to share. We are announcing today a voluntary recall of all Innova, California Natural, EVO, Healthwise, Mother Nature and Karma branded dry pet food and biscuit/bar/treat products with expiration dates prior to June 10, 2014.”

CBS reports that products at a single production facility tested positive for Salmonella during a routine FDA test in April of this year.

The company issued a recall after the test turned up positive for Salmonella and now, “out of an abundance of caution” the company has decided to issue another voluntary recall of its products. Natura Pets said that it implemented new testing features on June 10 and wanted to recall all products that were manufactured before that date.

The company said: “We are truly sorry. We know this news disappoints you; we are disappointed too. Natura will always focus on high-quality ingredients, product safety and innovation in pet nutrition. We remain committed to making products you can trust.”

Salmonella in Natura Pet Dry Food and Treats Spurs Recall

Natura Pet Products is recalling some lots of dry pet food because it may be contaminated with Salmonella bacteria. Pets can become ill after eating this food, and human beings can become ill just by touching it and then not thoroughly washing their hands. Pets with Salmonella can have lethargy and have diarrhea, which may be bloody, fever, and vomiting. Pets that appear perfectly healthy can be carriers of Salmonella bacteria.

The recalled products were packaged in one production facility. A single lot tested positive for Salmonella during routine FDA testing. No illnesses have been associated with these products to date. Natural is recalling all expiration dates before June 10, 2014.

All lot codes, all UPC numbers, and all package sizes of the following products are recalled. All expiration dates before June 10, 2014 are recalled. The products include Innova Dry dog and cat food and biscuits/bars/treats; EVO dry dog, cat, and ferret food and biscuits/bars/treats; California Natural dry dog and cat foods and biscuits/bars/treats; Healthwise dry dog nad cat foods, Karma dry dog foods; and Mother Nature biscuits/bars/treats.

’80s duo Pet Shop Boys to perform in Manila

MANILA, Philippines – The British ’80s duo Pet Shop Boys will hold a concert in Manila this August.

According to the duo’s website, the Pet Shop Boys will perform at the Araneta Coliseum on August 6 at the Araneta Coliseum in Cubao, Quezon City.

The website added that tickets for the show will be available on Ticketnet starting at 8 a.m. on June 15, Manila time.

Composed of Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe, the Pet Shop Boys are dubbed as the most successful duo in UK music history based on awards and record sales.

Their hits include “West End Girls,” “It’s A Sin,” “Domino Dancing” and “Suburbia.”
