Letter: Dogs don’t belongin back of trucks

I have seen many dogs in the back of pickup trucks. They are not safe there, especially if they are not tethered.

I was in Cincinnati on Interstate 75 and saw a dog who hopped from the bed of the truck to the cab of the truck at 70 miles an hour in four lanes of traffic. If the driver had to hit the brakes, that would have been the end of that dog. The Lima News should run articles in the newspaper that help protect our animals instead of showing a picture that makes them appear to be safe in the back of the truck. A dog could jump out of the truck for whatever reason, a swerve of the truck, a sudden stop, and be put at risk.
